Daddy don’t be scared

Daddy don’t be scared

I’m not that little girl anymore
Playing with mud or a puzzle on the floor

Daddy don’t be scared

I’m healthy and have grown
Moving through life with the lessons you’ve shown

Daddy don’t be scared

As I grow older I will always remember your hands and grace
Your soft eyes and the lines upon your face

Daddy don’t be scared

I am safe and surrounded by love
And grace and blessings from above

Daddy don’t be scared

Everything will be just fine
In your life as well as in mine

Walk against the wind

Upon a summers walk one day

a breeze came rolling by

it caught on the heels of a walker kind

and pulled and blew to get it’s way

gripping and swirling

It’s tentacles of dust and cold

around it’s victim

grasping and strengthening it’s hold

a wonderful summer morning walk

turned unpleasant and rough

no sunshine felt

the walker had just about enough

looking for sun on a beautiful day

a walk to embrace

the path now ruined

the wind showing it’s ugly face

I try

For TC:

We were put together for a reason, even if we cannot see.
It’s a card that life has dealt and connected we’ll forever be

I can no longer teach you or help you to grow.
Can’t brush your hair or tie your laces in a bow.

But I promise to always do the best I can do
I’ll be there to console you when you feel blue

I’ll stop and listen when you’re feeling low
Because I care so very much,
I can’t just let it go.

I’ll cook your meals, treat your colds or just go with you for a walk
I’ll be there when you’re hungry or lonely or just want to talk

I’ll give my heart, my time and love
Even if I’m last on your list and everything else is above

I’ll make sure your birthday is one special day
Please know you’re thought of often in a very special way.

Even when you do or say something that injures my feelings
Just keep in mind that I hurt while I’m healing

I hope deep down inside you’ll know how much I really care
And if you ever need me I promise to be there

For you my Friend

My friend

Sometimes I see so clearly in your eyes
The sorrow and hurt of certain goodbyes
Your heartache and longing for a mom that you miss
The distance too great between you and your sis

Your confidence in all your abilities down
Too many issues causing a frown
Your tender little heart bearing everyone’s worries
Hearing their troubles, complaints and their sorry’s

Trying always to seem strong and sure
Being a good friend with a heart that’s pure
But sometimes it helps to just shed a tear
To admit to your heartache and sorrows and fear

I wish you could see how wonderful you are
That everyone adores you both near and far
An intelligent women filled with beauty and grace
A wonderful mother and wife with a glow upon her face

If confidence and self love could be placed in a box
I’d give you both in this year’s christmas socks
I’d take a tiny bit of your stubbornness away
saving it for when needed on a rainy day 😉

Love you my friend! You’ll forever be my most favorite unofficial sister-in-law 🙂
